‘It was a ‘Happy Day’ when the Lord came to Bethany
Dec 05: Bethany Convent School, Guwahati Campus was filled with blissful music, the colorful and celebrative cultural dances that blew around Rev. Sr Rose Celine, the superior General and Rev. Sr Lilitta the General Councilor on the occasion of their Canonical visitation on 19th November 2018.
The two lovelies -the Lord’s chosen flowers –Rose and Lily of the Garden of Bethany have spread the fragrance of love, joy, graciousness, unity and a renewed spirit amongst us here in the land of North East India through their grace filled presence and interactions with the Sisters, staff and students. The scene of eager and affectionate students bowing and touching the feet of Superior General to receive her blessing is still vivid to my, eyes as I try to review of the significance of that day. No prompting was required as the students themselves sensed the compassionate presence of God in her.
It was such a rare and great occasion that the visible presence of the Lord was amidst us the Bethanites at Guwahati in the persons of our highest authority.
‘Once a Bethanite, always a Bethanite’ they say. Indeed it was a delight to see our ex-Students past pupils visiting their alma-mater at the news of our Superior General’s visit to their cradle-their cherished Campus.
