St Sebastian Higher Primary School is one of the oldest schools of the Bethany Educational Society ® Mangalore. It was started in the year 1908 for the poor children of the locality. A few generous people came forward every year to help these students. Understanding the needs of the school and the condition of the poor children studying in this school, on 25th August 2016, Mr P Jayaram Bhat, the Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer of Karnataka Bank, Mahaveer Circle, Kankanady, Mangalore, donated twenty- eight desks cum benches of four seater at a cost of `1,98,000/-
As a Mark of respect and to express our gratitude to Karnataka Bank, we arranged a short felicitation programme on the same day. Sr Leena Pereira, the Superior of Bethany Motherhouse, presided over the function and honoured the chief guest, Mr Jayaram Bhat with a bouquet of flowers, shawl and fruits on behalf of the Bethany Educational Society. Mr Shrinivas Deshpande, the Chief Manager, Public Relations was present on the occasion.
Sr Mercine, the Headmistress of the school welcomed the guest and Mrs Lorna proposed vote of thanks. Mrs Edna Prema Kumari compered the programme.
