Sep 30: Retirement is a Journey … Not A Destination. Mrs Joyce DSouza and Mrs Matilda Sequeira, eminent , dynamic and committed teachers who bloomed and moulded the life of tiny tots of Sacred hearts and planted the seeds of love and care in their young minds retired from selfless service on 30th of September 2023. The farewell ceremony was held on 27th September at Sacred Hearts’ Hr Pry School with great regard and honour.

Mrs Joyce was in active service for a period of 36 years. She gave her selfless service to the institution. She was a dedicated and responsible teacher with unique talents and a caliber of leadership qualities. More than a teacher she was a loving and caring mother to her young students.

Mrs Matilda was in active service for a period of 12 years. With a smile on her face always, she ignited the light of knowledge in the minds of young kids.

The stars of the day Mrs Joyce and Mrs Matilda were offered guard of honour and were ushered to the programme by the President of the day Sr Subha BS, the Educational Coordinator, Sr Reena Juliet, the Superior of Santa Cruz Convent, Sr Anitha Nathalia the Headmistress, Friends and Family members, Teaching and Non-teaching faculty along with the School band.

The programme began by invoking God’s blessings through a graceful prayer dance. The Headmistress Sr Anitha Nathalia welcomed the gathering. On behalf of the students Adrine and Sanjana of grade VII expressed their feelings with a grateful heart. The Sacredians added their love and sentiments by showing gratitude through a beautiful dance. Mrs Monica and Mrs Laveena shared the loving, caring moments spent with them and wished them happy, contented and joyful retired life.

Mrs Joyce and Mrs Matilda both shared their feelings with mixed emotions of joy and sadness on this occasion. Mrs Rithika Chandan anchored the programme.

Sr Shubha in her Presidential address appreciated and thanked the dedicated services of Mrs Joyce and Mrs Matilda individually. Mrs Jennifred Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks with emotions of heartfelt gratitude.

The staff and students wished Mrs Joyce and Mrs Matilda a very happy, healthy and adventure filled retired life. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
