Jan 26: It was a remarkable day in the history of St Joseph’s Kan Med School K.R. Nagar, as we inaugurated the new building on 26th Jan 2017.
In response to our beloved Founder’s Charism, compassionate love, specially for the poor, Sr Tina the then headmistress of K.R. Nagar English Med School, guided by the then Provincial Superior Sr Dhymphna, under the leadership of Sr Sylvine the then Superior General and the support of Sr Jyoti the then BES secretary, opened Kannada Medium Section in 1988. Since then we were taking the classes in one of wings of English Med School.

Recognizing the need of a separate building for our students, Sr Trina the Superior of St Joseph’s Convent and Sr Lydia the Headmistress Kannada Medium School, under the guidance of Sr Wilberta the then Superior General, Sr Rose Celine the BES Secretary and Sr Lilitta then the Provincial Superior laid foundation to the new building.

Amidst many problems, Sr Flossy the present Superior with under the guidance of Sr Rose Celine the present Superior General and her team, Sr Bonita the Provincial Superior and her team succeeded to construct a beautiful monument for our Kannada Medium Students.

The day was colourful filled with joy as the Sisters of St Joseph’s Convent  and Dornahalli Convent, teachers of three institutions, students of St Joseph’s Kannada Medium students and guests arrived with grateful hearts for the blessing.

Sr Bonita the Provincial Superior and the President of the days programme inaugurated the building by cutting the ribbon. Sr Susan the Assistant Provincial superior unveiled the plaque. Fr Antonyswamy the parish priest of the Divine Mercy Church K.R. Nagar blessed the building.

Thereafter, there was a short meaningful programme led by the Kannada Medium students to mark the specialty of the day. The guests were welcomed by Mrs Premalatha D’Souza. Mr Adithya the Architect and Mr Romeo the Contractor were honoured by Sr Bonita the Provincial Superior. Sr Mary Divya the Headmistress of Kannada Medium School gratefully thanked all those involved in the construction of the building and all those who helped in many ways one or the other way. The cultural program ended with the hymn to St Joseph, the patron Saint. At the end, meal was served for all, which was enjoyed by everyone.

We are indebted to God, who has given us this an opportunity to serve the poor. We owe our gratitude to our Beloved Founder through whose intercession all the works of the new building were completed on time.
