Our Founder Mgr RFC Mascarenhas the Servant of God an ardent devotee of our Blessed Mother may have desired to have a high school for girls. The year 1954 was the Marian year. On this beautiful occasion a new high school for girls under the patronage of our Mother Mary was blessed on 7th June 1954 and was called as Nirmala Girls High School.

Sr Bertha who was equipped with vast knowledge and experience to build this infant institution with vigour and enthusiasm was the first headmistress. The school began with 33 students in a classroom with four staff members. Recognition of the school obtained in 1954. Permanent recognition was granted in 1965. Financial assistance was received from Sagar, Municipality a sum of Rs. 1500/- annually. The 1st batch of the SSLC students secured 95% result.

The dream of our Founder of empowering rural girls through education became a reality at Sagar. The girls educated from this institution are placed in recognized position in the society which gives us a proud feel.
