Loyola Convent School was founded by the Bethany Educational Society, Mangalore on 1 June 1961 to meet the educational needs of Gadag which lacked facilities of education in English Medium. With the support of the Management and the good will of the local public, it grew to be a full-fledged English medium primary school, which received permanent recognition in 1982.
    
The good education imparted by the sisters, motivated every family to send their children to school.  They acquired the vacant settlement land to put up their own houses close to the church and the convent.

God’s hand guided the destiny of this school, which has student strength of 1540. A dedicated band of 32 teachers are working hand in hand under the able guidance of Sr Veronica, the Headmistress of the school. In 1982 a need was felt to add sections to the school. Each class has 3 sections at present.
    
Loyola School excels not only in academic studies but non-academic too. In view of all-round development Karate and Dance classes are conducted. Scouts and Guides, Smart Class is introduced in the school. There is no doubt that Loyola School at Gadag run by Bethany Education Society is doing yeomen service to the students of the locality. May Jesus continue to assist us and Rev. Fr. Founder intercede for us in this noble work of educating the children of our nation.
