August 08: A seminar was organized for the staff of St. Joseph’s Convent School, Bathinda on 1st July 2019. Mr Tarun Sharma, a well-read, multitalented personality was the resource person.

He focused on the role of a teacher in building up the character and personality of the child and suggested that observation plays a key role in the life of both the teacher and the student.

Thinking skills, emotional stability, self-confidence, foresight, fair sense of judgment, along with team work are the essentials for educators. He also put forward the ‘Placebo Effect' that underlined the powerful role of brain in a person’s belief system and concluded that happiness and productivity are in direct proportion to each other and key tool towards a positive attitude. An educator needs to be a good leader and instill these qualities in his/her students.

He emphasized that every time a person feels dejected, a very harmful hormone called cortisol is released in his brain and when a person is happy, the release of endorphin makes a person joyous. Therefore he encouraged the staff to have a practical approach to laughter.
