Oct 18: October 16th, 2019 was a Soul Searching Day for all the sisters of Mangalore, Bangalore and Western Province who are serving in the institutions of Bethany Educational Society ® Mangalore. We all assembled in the “Little Flower Hall” at Bethany mother house to attend the workshop on NEP 2019, by the highly profiled resource person Fr (Dr) Paul Pudussery CSC, a Holy Cross Priest. God’s Blessings were craved upon all the participants as Sr Flona BS led the prayer. The cheerful and joyful welcome of Sr Mariette BS, Secretary of BES made us feel supported and motivated. The key note address of Sr Rose Celine B S, Superior General and President of BES, put us on right track for the seminar. She gave a clarion call for all of us as well as other managements to join together in facing the challenges of the NEP 2019.
During the whole days input sessions, we prepared ourselves to face the challenges of NEP 2019. It was a scripture based seminar wherein we were made aware of the purpose of our call and mission to show the face of God’s Love to others. After an hour of Spiritual session, we delved deeply into the Post Truth Era: Impact of NEP 2019. In a nutshell, NEP 2019 draft was presented to us with critical, objective and analytical thoughts and reflections. The highlights of the draft are: The early Childhood care and Education, The Right to Education Act -2009( RTE ACT),Curriculum Frame Work, School Exam Reforms, School infrastructure, Teacher Management, Regulation of school, Vocational courses, School Governance etc.
With PPT presentation and apt examples, the NEP 2019 was unveiled by the resource person. At the end of the day’s seminar we were charged with the knowledge and information to march ahead facing new avenues in our Educational apostolate. With a concluding prayer led by Sr Jeevan BS , the Deputy Secretary of BES, we parted to our respective institutions to proclaim Christ with our Value System and Creating a campus culture . The Programme was compered by Sr Sally BS , and Vote of Thanks was proposed by Sr Tressila BS.
