Nov 15: Sr Joy the Provincial Superior along with her team organized Teachers Capacity Building Programme for all BES Schools of North East in three batches at BIRD Umsning Meghalya. The programme stretched out from August to November 2019. Sr Clara the Director of BIRD welcomed all the teachers. In all 77 teachers were trained in Counselling Skills by Sr Jhansi BS and Teaching Skills by Sr Edleburgh BS the Education Coordinator of North East Province.
Counselling skills were first of its kind for the teachers and they appreciated it very well. They had counseling skills practice for certain hours. They were also given books to pick any topic and give 5 minutes Micro lessons to the group. At the end they were divided into groups and presented lessons using the digital system. They also displayed their lessons on charts creatively.
The teachers expressed their full satisfaction and said more of this kind should be organized so that they are equipped with skills to deal with children.
