Jan 02: Practice what you preach is the rendition of the Sacred Heart students, Ludhiana. An agenda of 20 doctrines has been framed to create a zero-garbage school and its neighborhood.

The students of class VIII and XI as Zero Garbage Ambassadors moved in groups and singles to exhort their school mates not to litter the classrooms, corridors, grounds and use brown note book covers instead of soft binding, not carry plastic bottles, bags, pencil and tiffin boxes, cups and straws; minimize plastic bags for carrying articles to school; use unfinished notebooks by stapling the pages and both sides of the sheet; not wasting tiffin food and wrapping the food only in muslin cloth.

On 7 November 2019 a rally was initiated with the support of the Zonal Commissioner to address the residents in the near vicinity of the school. The school Zero Garbage ambassadors walked house to house sensitizing the residents about the drive. The residents offered an over whelming support promising to maintain  clean surroundings.

The students took on a war footing resulting in a Zero Garbage School in a fortnight. This cleanliness drive in its long term goal seeks to minimize garbage and follow pro-environment practices beneficial for all.
