Feb 09: The modalities to celebrate the birth anniversaries of two great personalities of our country on 23rd January were precisely planned.
One was the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the valiant freedom fighter whose revolutionary saga was inevitably rewriting the history of India in the early forties.

The second was the happy occasion of the 146th birth anniversary of the Father Founder R.F.C. Mascarenhas. A noble soul who started the Congregation of the sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany on 16th July, 1921 as a first step towards empowerment of Indian women. The programme started with the school prayer followed by lighting of the diya, Floral offering were made to the great leaders by the Principal Sr. Monthie , Vice Pricipal Sr. Beena, Odia medium school Principal Sr. Sabita , Senior staff Sir. Kuresh Choudhury and Ms. Sarojini apatriotic song was sung by staff members accompanied by the music teacher Sir Bibhudatta . The Principal also addressed the assembly comprising the girl of Std. X and the teachers. Rich tributes were paid to Netaji in recognition of his valour and courage.

It was also heartening to know about the soon to be granted sainthood to Father Founder and the new membership of four sisters from the African nation of Tanzania, in the congregation. The programme ended with the singing of the Bethany Anthem.
