“He, who plants trees, loves others besides himself.” -  Thomas Fuller

June 21 :To mark the auspicious significance, of the event World Environment Day, St Joseph’s Convent School Bathinda, embarked on a wonderful initiative of “Plantation Drive”. Under the guidance of Sr Veena D’Souza, the Principal, this Operation Green began on 5 June 2021 at 5.45 pm in the school ground.

Assisted by the School gardeners, Sisters, teachers, students, parents, office staff and the Security Guards, took part in this endeavour and planted twenty trees to promote the growth of a green cover over the Mother Earth. Everyone took part enthusiastically, in tilling the soil and planting the saplings eagerly.

Looking at the wide range of valuable utilities, that the trees provide to the human kind and to the Mother Nature, one can easily understand why planting even a single sapling brings about a significant change. And any such good effort will definitely foster our strong mental and emotional bond with the environment, for “Nature is painting for us day after day, pictures of infinite beauty”.

At the completion of this joyous task, sweets were distributed to the students to encourage their participation. Thus, the Plantation drive concluded with a note of great satisfaction.
