Inter-School AICS Literary Competition held at St. Theresa’s School, Bendur, Mangalore. It plays a major role in motivating students to perform, excel and gain confidence.
St. Theresa’s ICSE School, Bendur, Mangalore in association with AICS, DK organized the Inter school Literary Competitions “Zeal 2022” on 30th June, 2022. The competition was organized with an objective of identifying and nurturing various skills and talents of CBSE and ICSC Schools. Thirty seven schools from all over Dakshina Kannada District participated in “Zeal 2022”.
The various competitions held were Improvisation, Recitation, Declamation, Essay Writing and Elocution. A platform was provided to the participants to improve and apply their skills, analyse, evaluate outcomes and unveil latent talents and personal aptitude in the literary world.
The day commenced with the prayer and a welcome dance. The event was creatively inaugurated by the Chief Guest Rev Fr. Robert D’Souza President of AICS and The Principal of Lourdes Central School, Bejai- Mangalore along with the dignitaries Rev Sr. Shaila the Correspondent of St. Theresa’s School and Mr. Alias Fernandes the Proprietor of the media house, Four winds. The chief guest in his address said that, this inter-school competition will surely help us to collaborate, cooperate and to build relationship of humanity. He inspired the participants to compete enthusiastically, to believe in oneself and to give their hundred percent in whatever they do.
Throughout the day the participants competed with zeal and fervour to excel in all the literary events. You learn more from losing than winning. You learn how to keep going. Besides the ideation, conceptualization, planning and execution, the most awaited moment was the award ceremony.
The award ceremony was chaired by the Chief Guest Sr. Sandhya BS, the Secretary of Bethany Educational Society. Rev Sr. Sandhya applauded all the participants for their efforts and achievements and wished them the best for their future endeavours. Sr. Lourdes the Principal and Sr Caron the Vice Principal of St Theresa’s school awarded the winners of the various literary events. The final over all championship trophy and the runners up trophy was declared by Sr. Lourdes and presented by the Chief Guest Sr. Sandhya BS.
The Overall Champions of the “Zeal 2022” were Lourdes Central School, Bejai - Mangalore. The Runners up award was bagged by Manipal School, Attavar Mangalore. It was indeed a true celebration of learning. The event Culminated with vote of thanks and the rendition of the National anthem.
