Sep 26: Jyothi Composite PU College conducted a two day fest to celebrate its love for nature and commitment towards environment. The dawn of 15th September 2017 made the students from various schools and colleges to march towards Jyothi College to participate in the contests organized. Among many interesting contests "SHOOT N FRAME” contest was a huge success. More than 100 children participated in it and submitted almost 500 pictures. It was wonderful to see nature and beauty of our campus through a teen’s eye.

"HANDY ART FROM NATURE” contest brought out exquisite pieces deftly crafted by students.  Plastic ban, pollution concerns, climate change and other grim issues faced by world today were depicted through skits and dance contests. It was a novel way to drive home a point indeed.

What’s a contest without a winner?  Hence on the second day of the fest eminent dignitaries like Rev Sr Mariette, the Secretary of BES Mangalore, and the President of the function, Dr Rajendra Prasad (Dean) of College of Agriculture GKVK, Chief Guest, Rev Sr Bonita, the Provincial Superior of Bangalore Province, the Guest of Honour, Sr Leena D’Costa the Superior and Correspondent graced the occasion. They also gave away prizes, certificates and mementos to prize winners and the participants from schools and colleges.
All the dignitaries encouraged and brought home an important message – care for the nature. The College presented dances, skits, songs and a unique Fashion Show on five elements of the earth to entertain the audience and to spread the message of saving the Mother Earth. Overall it was a well attended fest spearheaded by the vision of our College Principal Sr Georgina along with her committed staff. Kudos to them!
