Oct 23: Industry Visited: RSB Ltd, Belur Industrial Estate (KIADB) DHARWAD
The Commerce Department of Presentation Girls’ Composite P U College, Dharwad organized, one day Industrial Visit for the Second year Commerce students, on 14th October 2017.
In 2011, our beloved Principal Sr Prima BS observed the need of Industrial Visits in order to better understand the current Business influences, Business Management perceptions and attitudes towards Education and career growth amongst students with the prevailing unemployment and Skill gap.
Since 2011 the Industrial visit was a part of the Academic Education in our College, during which students visit companies and get insight of on the internal working environment of the company. Along with the Commerce Faculty members, two student’s coordinators visited the Industry.
This year the Visit to manufacturing Industry was useful for students. To understand the nuances and realities of the shop floor, this in itself is a rare exposure. By visiting the shop floor they got to understand the risky conditions in which workers work, the Employees ‘management challenges involved etc
This industrial visit provided an insight on how companies work and also useful information related to the practical aspects of the course which cannot be visualized in lectures.
Industry visit sensitized our students to the practical challenges that organizations face in the business world. And also gave greater clarity about various management concepts for students as they could practically see how these concepts are put into action
In our College Industrial visit is considered as one of the most tactical methods of teaching. The main reason behind this is, it lets students to know things practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices
As students could see first-hand the relevance and the application of the subject learnt in the classroom, in the real world. This Industry visit has showcased a variety of careers, even have allowed our students to make an informed decision about selection of subjects to study at Degree level or in choosing the sector for their future.
The students had the opportunity to meet enthusiastic guides within the organization, even they had Interaction session with the HR Manager of the Company. During this session, students interacted with the Manager very effectively. Particularly about the Business Management
