Oct 24: “Everything that is excellent will come when this sleeping soul is aroused to self conscious activity.” These words of Swami Vivekanada were actualized during a day’s YSM camp held on 21st October 2017 at Rosa Mystica P U College, Kinnikambla. Prof. Roshan Santhumayor, the Vice Principal, Padua College, Mangalore inaugurated the YSM camp by imprinting the palm on chart and encouraged the students to be honest and sincere in all aspects of life. Quoting the words of Jesus Christ, Sr Cecilia D’Souza the Principal in her presidential address inspired the students to be ‘the light of the world’ and ‘the salt of the earth’.

Sr Agnesia BS the resource person enlightened the students about health care and use of home remedies. Mr Snake Kiran Pinto, spoke about the poisonous and non-poisonous snakes and their importance of snakes in our environment. He also enthused the students by encouraging them to hold the snakes in the hands and to be free from the fear of reptiles. Rev. Fr Rupesh Madtha the Diocesan Director of YCS/YSM, Mangalore motivated the students to build healthy friendship and to respect the parents. Mr Mervin Vas conducted many activities to keep the group active. All the students took active part in all the activities of the day. They cleaned the surrounding as a part of their day’s activity. At the end ‘the Local Band’ entertained the group by their music and songs. The camp was closed by singing the YSM Anthem.
