Nov 09: 20 Principals/Headmistresses of Bethany North East Province came together on 7 November 2017 for the Annual Meeting to reflect together on the theme Educators' Spirituality in the 21st century – BEAR 2017 - Boosting Educators’ Awareness and Response. Sr Edleburgh, the Co-coordinator for Education welcomed the participants and called them upon to have a vision and to lead with passion. Sr Joy the Corporate Manager BES North East in her key note address stressed the need for paying individual attention to students, concept learning and promoting discovery and exploration.
The resource person Rev. Fr Benny Sebastian SDB dealing with the topic on Educators’ spirituality in 21st century spoke on the urgency to become HUMANE. Spirituality in education is the deep connectivity so to cultivate a passion for it, he said. Further he enlightened that education is an Art, cull out this Art from one’s HEART.
It was very encouraging to listen to the success stories of each school. Having realized our role as educators we reflected together on a few important questions and priorities related to education and drew up an action plan.
