Feb 14: It was a red lettered day in the history of Bethany English Higher Primary School, Puttur which is only in its 13th year of its existence. Our proud student, Tanisha P Rai of std VII won the Gold Medal at the National Level in Throwball. Miss Dimple S Bangera, Miss M S Chaithanya, Master Aqwin D’souza have further boldened the success story of Bethany by participating at the National Level Athletics.
We took pleasure in celebrating this event and to known the existence and blessings of Servant of God RFC Mascarenhas to the public.
The Honouring procession held on 09/02/2018 of National Stars stringed together the entire Bethany community of Puttur in a festive and joyous mood and celebration.
The procession stepped off through Puttur Bus stand promptly at 9.30 a.m and was led by the school band where dignitaries, President Sr Mariette, the Correspondent. Sr Sarita, Headmistress, Sr Lavita, PTA Vice-president Mr Sudhir Rai and a whole faculty of staff, PTA executive members and parents. The four shining National Stars- Ms Tanisha P Rai, Ms Dimple S Bangera, Ms M S Chaithanya and Master Aqwin D’souza were the center of attraction of the procession.
It was an invigorating and exhilarating experience for the entire Bethany oceanfamily, as they walked from Puttur bus stand to the school premises. The procession was an ecstatic one. The procession followed by a honouring ceremony held at the school auditorium. It was witnessed by a large number of parents, students, Staff, PTA executive members and esteemed dignitaries packed into the school auditorium to celebrate the success of the National Stars.
The guests of honour included President Sr Mariette, Correspondent Sr Sarita, MLA Mrs Shakuntala T Shetty, BEO of Puttur Mrs Sukanya, Local Councilor Mr Vinay Bandhary, TPO Mr Sundar Gowda, Vice-President Mr Sudhir Rai and the Headmistress Sr Lavita. The presence of the Secretary of BES Sr Mariette as the president of the programme brought a further grace to it.
Having many long standing prestigious schools in Puttur, Bethany English Higher Primary School has taken the lead in the curriculum and sportive field. Getting the gold medal at the National level has brought laurels and accolades not only to the institution but to the entire District and State said TPO Mr Sundar Gowda in his opening message. The MLA Mrs. Shakuntala T Shetty expressed her happiness and gratitude to the institution for preparing four pearls from Puttur to shine at the National Level. Mrs Sukanya, BEO exclaimed that what we see in the Olympic procession, today Bethany has made it possible in Puttur. Wishing the successful flourishment of Bethany in future were the words of Local Councilor Mr Vinay Bhandhary
Sr Mariette, the President handed over the “The Pride of Catholic Church” award given by CBCI, New Delhi to the Headmistress, Sr Lavita and she expressed that this event is a glorious one in the history of Bethany, wherein Bethany English Higher Primary School, Puttur produced four sparkling sportive gems. She further expressed that these four stars have rather set an admiring benchmark for others to imitate. She also congratulated the hard labour of PT Master, Mr Niranjan and strenuous stewardship of the Headmistress, Sr Lavita, support of parents and backing of staff. On behalf of the President of BES and managing committee, she expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those who witnessed this event and making this event a memorable one.
Sr Sarita, the Correspondent spread the fragrance of welcome to the programme. The event also included the honouring of PT Master, Mr. Niranjan and the Headmistress, Sr Lavita. Mr Sudhir Rai, the PTA Vice- president and his team of executive members actively joined to execute the programme.
The four National students were given a grand honouring by the dignitaries and the entire ceremony casted an impressive spell on the audiences. The eye of the bird was not sufficient to see the success and glory. It was well appreciated and congratulated by the public. This event marked as an landmark in the history of Puttur.
