Feb 20: In co-ordination with the Jyothi Seva Kendra Bethany High School organized an awareness programme for the students of VIII and IX in two batches on 16th of February 2018. Sr Celine periera BS the superior of Vidhya Rani Convent and the Co-ordinator of Jyothi Seva Kendra, Mahadev the Social worker, and Sr Kavitha, the Head mistress of Bethany High School, inaugurated the Social Awareness Programe. After the prayer and formal introduction, Sr Celine addressed the students and brought out the burning issues in the social context. The top most issue they spoke was human trafficking.
Sr Jesilda spoke on the target persons of human trafficking, the effects on the victims’ safety measures and creating awareness about it in others.
The prevalent issues in North Karnataka, on child labour, Child marriage were shown to the students through PPT (Power point Presentation). Clippings on story of Shalini made great impact on the young minds of the students. Tips on “Save Family in love and unity was very helpful to students in their growing age. Many students recapilated various messages for their lives. Our thanks to Sr Kavitha the Head Mistress for arranging such an educative programme.
The doubts of students were clarified and the session ended at 11.45am. The second batch followed. Students expresses their views and happily thanked all the Sisters for such a useful programme conducted for them. The staff of the school also benefited as they were present.
