May 21: 17th of May 2018, was a golden momentous occasion for the Sisters, Principal, Staff and Students of Stella Maris Convent School, Sulthanpur when a golden glow surrounded the entire school premises.
When sisters went to seek the blessing of Fr Founder on his death bed before they could move to North India from Mangalore, he with tear filled eyes, raising his head, exclaimed "Go my daughters go, the time is nigh; my desire is fulfilled, my Bethany will spread to 4 corners of the world". In January 1961 during cold winter they plunged into Northern India starting from Karnal in Haryana. Thereafter the sisters came to Sultanpur in 1968 trusting in the benevolence of Lord Jesus. The presence of our sisters at Sulthanpur was a dream of our Founder.
Rev Sr Rose Celine, the President of BES presided over the jubilee function on 17 may 2018, Mr Vivek, the DM of Sultanpur as the chief guest, Mr Anupam Mishra IAS, and Mr Ras Bihari Singh DIG, CRPF as the guests of honour. Sr Shaila, the Corporate Manager, Mrs Babita Jaiswal, Municipality Chairman, Rev Msgr Louis Mascarenhas, the vicar General, Rev Fr John Lobo, the Parish Priest, Sr Shamitha the Principal, Sr Agnelita, the Superior and HM were the other dignitaries on the dais.
The guests were welcomed with guard of honour and bouquet of flowers. The past and the present Principals and Superiors of Stella Maris were honoured. The event reached its peak by the presentation of a most glorifying and thrilling dance drama named ‘REFORMATION’, depicting 50 historical years of Stella Maris.
Congratulations to Sr Shamitha, the Principal, Sr Leena Cutinho, the Vice Principal, Sr Agnelita the Headmistress, Staff and students of Stella Maris Convent School for the memorable celebration of the 50 golden years.
