St Mary’s English Medium Nursery/Primary, Kutta

St Mary’s English Medium Primary School at Kutta was started in July 1979 with 25 children in the K.G class with Sr Josia as in charge. The classes, for almost 4 years were conducted in the church building. By end of 1983 a few class rooms were ready and the classes were shifted to the present school building. The school made steady progress and in 1987 the first batch of Std VII answered the district level exam and secured 100% percent. The school caters to the educational need of the poor people of the locality and it is a boon to them.

In 2006 Std VIII was opened with 27students. First batch of 25 students answered the SSLC exam in 2009 and got 100% percent. Poor strength in the High school classes made it a liability to the Management and after 10 years, permission was sought from the educational department to close the High school.

All through its existence, the students have been doing well in sports and other co-curricular events at various levels winning shields, medals and cash prizes. Moral education and faith formation is given due importance. Core values of BES are instilled among the staff and students through seminar and co-curricular activities. Retreats are organized for the staff and students to enrich their lives. All round growth and development of the students is always kept in mind and catered to.
