Presentation Girls’ Composite P.U. College, Dharwad was a dream of Msgr RFC Mascarenhas who founded the Bethany Congregation on 16th July 1921 with four lady teachers to cater to the development of girls through value based education. Knowing the plight of girls facing discrimination in access to health, education, employment and in many other areas, Presentation Girls’ Composite P.U. College was opened with a sole view to empower girls of lower economic status through value based excellent education. This College was opened on 01.06.2006 with 58 girl students in PCMCs and today it has 233 students.

In the year 2010, the P.U. Education Board, Bangalore, awarded ‘A’ Grade on 30.01.2010 to Presentation Girls’ Composite P.U. College. In the year 2010-2011, PCMB combination was introduced in place of PCMCs. In the year 2011-2012, Commerce section with EBACs was started. The results of the Board exams have been very rewarding in every stream. The following measures are taken to improve the result of the College:

•    Cyclic test in one subject on every Monday
•    Remedial Classes for those who are weak after every test.
•    Spoken English Classes for the vernacular medium students.
•    Grammar Classes twice a week for P.U.II Science and P.U.II     Commerce.
•    Three Prelims for P.U.II students to prepare well for Board     exam.

The College celebrated Decennial Jubilee in the year 2016. All the students who secured 90% and above were honoured with Rs. 5,000/- Scholarship by various banks. The faculty of the College was also honoured for improving the result of the College. This College has a bright future as it is striving hard for the empowerment of girl students.
