June 30: International Yoga Day is observed every year on June 21 to raise awareness about the ancient practice and to celebrate the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world. Yoga is a practice which plays an important role in relaxing the mind and body and boosting people’s immune system.

On 21 June 2023, Bethany English Medium Higher Primary School, Mulki celebrated International Yoga Day. The programme started with a prayer song. Physical education teacher Mr. Roopesh gave a floral welcome to our Headmistress.

International Yoga Day 2023 was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Our Headmistress Sr. Rita Sharal briefed the students about physical and mental health benefits of practicing yoga. Yoga is for one’s inner well-being and helps coping with stress.

Warm up exercises were taken and all the students performed sitting and standing asanas the importance of these were explained simultaneously.

The celebration of this day highlighted the importance of numerous benefits of yoga and its holistic approach to physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
