Oct 19: On 29 August 2023, St Sebastian's High School, Loliem, Goa celebrated National Sports Day with great enthusiasm and fervor. The event was a true tribute to the legendary Indian hockey player, Major Dhyan Chand, whose birthday is celebrated as National Sports Day in India. The celebration was organized with the participation of students from various houses, showcasing their sportsmanship and enthusiasm.
Road Race for Students House wise: The day started with an exciting Road Race competition for the students, making it a thrilling event for everyone. The race not only tested their speed and stamina but also encouraged teamwork and house spirit. The winners were awarded with certificates, medals, and trophies to honor their achievements.
Quiz on Sports: In the spirit of promoting sports knowledge and awareness, a sports quiz was held for the teachers. It was an excellent platform for the staff to showcase their knowledge, and the winners received accolades, prizes and points for their respective houses.
Aerobic Dance for the Students: As a delightful interlude, students also showcased their fitness and agility through an energetic aerobic dance performance. The Chief Guest, Miss Dreema Fernandes, the ex-student was entertained and inspired. The event not only celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship but also instilled in the students the importance of physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. The celebration of National Sports Day was a great success, and it wouldn't have been possible without the dedication and hard work of both the students and the teachers. I look forward to many more such events in the future, promoting sports, fitness, and the true spirit of sportsmanship.
