Feb 22: The Pearl Year Exhibition cum School Annual gathering of Bethany Convent High School Salcete, Goa and the Sao Jose de Areal School Complex was held on 22 Feb 2017 at 3:00 pm in the school premises.
At the outset the guests were welcomed by the School Band by performing the traditional Aarthi. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr. Gajanan Bhat (Director, Directorate of Education, Government of Goa) in the presence of Rev. Sr Assumpta BS Provincial Superior, Western Province and Vice President of Bethany Educational Society, Goa, who presided over the function, Mr Yeshwant Valaulikar ADEI Salcete, Rev. Sr Paula BS, The Deputy Secretary, Rev. Sr Noel BS The Manager, Rev. Sr Dr Tressilla Pinto BS, The Headmistress, Mr. Agnelo Fernandes, the Vice President P.T.A, Mr Carmo Rodrigues, the Art teacher and other dignitaries in the School Hall. The Parish Priest Rev. Fr Richard Pinheiro and Asst- Parish Priest Fr Jason Vaz were the special invitees.
Exhibits in Art /Craft, Science, Mathematics, Sports, Social Science, Music, Value Education, Computers prepared by the students of Bethany convent High School, Salcete and 5 schools of the Complex were displayed.
The formal programme included Bethany Anthem, Lighting the Diya, Garlanding the Bust of Fr Founder, Prayer Dance, Welcome Dance and the Welcome Address by the Headmistress, Sr Dr. Tressilla BS.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Sandhya Dessai. A cultural programme followed with various items presented by the students. The colourful costumes added glamour and beauty to the function. The Ex-students of the school expressed their sentiments of love and gratitude to their Alma Mater.
Sr Dora along with the students of Std. IX presented the school report in which she appreciated the efforts of the P.T.A for their keen interest in the development of the school. The programme was coordinated by M. Shekar Dessai, Mr Carmo Rodrigues and Mr Vaibhav Raut under the able leadership & guidance of Sr Dr Tressilla Pinto. Mrs Jennifer Coutinho and Mrs Sienna Piexoto hosted the function.
