Aug 15: “As true citizens of our country let us give due respect to our National Flag, National Anthem and National Symbols.”
Mr Maruthi Nayak the Police Inspector of Kadri police station hoisted the National Flag at St Theresa’s School, Bendur marking the 71st Independence Day of India.
The chief guest was received by Sr Premitha, the Principal and Sr Shanthi, Vice Principal and PTA Mrs Nynette Tellis, Vice president with the guard of honour by the School band at the entrance. The Principal of the school welcomed the dignitaries on the dais. Mr Maruthi Nayak received the salute from the parade. Addressing the students he said we are the children of Mother India. In the society today there is a lot of unrest and disharmony. The challenge is before us to promote peace, justice and harmony. He called on every student to be a true citizen of our country and to give due respect to our National Flag, National Anthem and National Symbols.


Students on this occasion performed colourful cultural activities. Mrs Nynette Tellis, the PTA Vice President honoured the houses that performed best in the march past. Mrs Anita, the PT teacher of the school coordinated the march past ceremony. Two students of STD X Carol Santhumayor and Gisselle delivered heart touching speeches. Reanne, Asim and Nidhi compared the programme. Mridhula gave the vote of thanks.
